13th Annual Joshua Tree National Park Art Exposition

The Joshua Tree National Park Art Expo returns to the historic 29 Palms Art Gallery for a weekend celebrating the connection between art and nature. Since 2013, the juried exhibition has showcased works inspired by the park’s beauty and cultural history. Opening weekend features artist booths, live music, food, and family activities—and just down the road, the quirky annual “Weed Show” adds to the desert art festivities.

Second Saturdays: Indigenous Mosaics

The Hi-Desert Artists Gallery is on the lookout for a skilled muralist to lead an exciting new community art project in Yucca Valley! The chosen artist will collaborate with the winning design creator and guide local participants in bringing a vibrant mural to life on the gallery’s east wall—a colorful tribute to the town’s rich history, culture, and desert beauty. Blending art, education, and community spirit, this project offers a unique chance to transform collaboration into a lasting symbol of local pride.

With regional artists showcasing their talents across multiple mediums, visitors can enjoy an immersive experience filled with color, rhythm, and local flavor. Located within San Bernardino Valley College, this community-focused gallery welcomes both students and the public to explore its latest exhibition on environmental and listening themes. Showcasing works by renowned California artists like Milford Zornes and Millard Sheets, the exhibit reflects the state’s natural beauty and delicate balance with nature—inviting visitors to pause and consider humanity’s evolving relationship with the environment. With limited gallery hours (Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.), visitors are encouraged to plan ahead. Admission and parking are free, and the gallery’s convenient location near downtown San Bernardino makes it an accessible and inspiring cultural stop.

First Thursdays: Patch Making Workshop

Create custom canvas patches using painting techniques and embroidery with artist, B.A Soul. Participants are encouraged to bring an article of clothing or accessory that they’d like to sew their patch on. This program is open to all ages but supplies and instructions are designed for those ages 10 and up. This program begins promptly at the stated time. Please plan to attend the full duration of the program. Registration is recommended and limited to first 25 attendees.

Learn and practice the art of visual storytelling in this artist-led comic making workshop with David Kantrowitz, where we dive deep into Ontario’s history alongside our Gem of the Foothills exhibition. Draft your own comic where you can tell your own piece of local community history in your own voice and style. Registration is recommended but not required. Walk-ins welcomed. All materials are provided.

The Ontario Art Walk transforms the downtown area into a lively celebration of local art and culture, featuring open galleries, artisan booths, live music, and interactive art-making experiences for all ages.
